Fraser Valley Food Network

There is a strong national food security network, (www.foodsecurecanada.org/) and a strong provincial network, (www.fooddemocracy.org) and strong local networks like Surrey/White Rock Food Action Coalition and New West Community Food Action Committee but we have had a lack of a Fraser Region wide networking opportunities and sharing...

You are invited join the FVFN to share, discuss, network and celebrate around food security in the Fraser Region (Burnaby to Boston Bar) This is your opportunity to learn and share about emerging food security work and successes in the Fraser Region and to participate in the planning of region-wide strategies for food security.

08 What is Food Security BRIEF

On October 16, 2009, World Food Day, the Provincial Health Services Authority and the Public Health Association of BC proudly launched the Food Security Gateway.

Please visit this web portal at  http://www.phabc.org/foodsecuritygateway

The portal is meant to connect you to BC initiatives and important resources that can help to create healthy eating environments and food secure communities in BC. It is meant to be a resource for public policy makers, food industry leaders, civil society organizations and interested citizens in BC. We hope that this information will prove to be a useful resource as we strive to achieve sufficient, safe and nutritious food for all British Columbians.
